Starting on May 8, 2013 the kitchen will open at 4 PM and close at 9:30 PM Sunday through Thursday and open at 4 PM and close at 10:00 PM on Friday and Saturday.

Good news about our Youth Awareness Students. If you recall from our December Newsletter we had six High School students competing for scholarships and awards. All six students did their three “kids talks” and submitted their portfolios for judging. In the state of Pennsylvania 142 students were trained but only 60 completed their “kids talks”. Final results for Pennsylvania show that four of our students won acclamations. Arien Skiba, a senior from Commodore Perry came in first place and won a $1000 scholarship, the fourth year in a row, and Emily Sanner, a sophomore from Commodore Perry won a $500 scholarship. Both Arien and Emily will be going on to Lisle, IL from May 2 to May 6, 2013, for the International Congress where they will be competing for scholarships ranging from $2000 to $12000.

Brittany Reinhart, a senior from Jamestown and Alexis Grinnell, a senior from Commodore Perry won $100. In the state there are only two $1000 scholarship winners, two $500 scholarship winners, and six $100 winners.
Our two other students, Haley Bates, a sophomore from CP and Samantha McLaughlin, a freshman from Jamestown also did a great job in their presentations.
All of our students did very well in representing this Moose program in our community and deserve a word of thanks from all of us.

Last month in my letter I told you we would be having a soup party. As promised, the time is now! Saturday, April 6th from noon to 4 pm. Bring in three quarts or more of your best soup to be judged by our three tasters and your friends. First prize is $50.00, second is $20.00 and third is $10.00 and bragging rights till the next competition. If you do not want to compete, come in and savor the flavors that your fellow Moose members have chosen to share. While here you can purchase tickets for the beautiful grill we are raffling off on May 30, 2013. Tickets are only $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. The elections will soon be over and the Moose Legion would like to wish a prosperous year to the new board of officers and we look forward to working with you this year. See you at the next Legion meeting on April 9th at 7:30pm.

Shenango Valley Legion #88 will gather at Franklin Lodge #83 with Directors meeting at 1:00 PM and Members meeting with Conferral at 2PM.

The next meeting of the Moose Riders will be April 8th at 7PM. If the weather ever gives us a break, we will start our monthly rides in April.

We are having our Blessing of the Bikes and Steak Fry on June 8th. Price will be $15.00 a ticket for the steak fry. Wild Card will be playing that evening in the Banquet Hall for members and their qualified guests. We will be having an organized ride that day for anyone that would like to ride along. There will also be a Chinese auction that day, should you have any donations for the Chinese auction, please see Joanne Cramer or one of the officers.

May 17th—May 19th or 20th, we are considering riding to Mooseheart for the annual blessing of the bikes and laptop presentation to the graduating seniors. Any Moose rider who would like to attend, please see Steve Palmer or myself, so we can make arrangements.

We continue to work on plans for the State Moose Rider Rally which will be held at Greenville 276 Family Center the weekend of August 16-18.
